Millions of people lack basic education and they need your help.
According to UNICEF, many families cannot afford the associated costs of sending their children to school such as uniforms and textbooks. Even when children enrol in schools, many do not complete the primary cycle.
According to current data, 30% of pupils drop out of primary school and only 54% transit to Junior Secondary Schools. Reasons for this low completion rate include child labour, economic hardship and early marriage for girls.
Education has been recognized as a basic human right since the 1948 adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. A positive correlation exists between the enrollment of children in primary school and the gross national product and life expectancy. Because of this correlation, enrollment in schools represents the largest component of societal investment into human capital.
